Pizza Slice
Toddler · 2–3A cheesy slice of pizza with pepperoni. Color the crust, the cheese, and the toppings! A fun way to talk about favorite foods. Print it on A4 or US Letter, or color it online with tap-to-fill.
A triangle you can eat
A pizza slice is the most convincing triangle in a child's life — better than a roof, better than a party hat, because they have held one. The crust curves along the wide end, which is a nice detail: it is a triangle with one rounded side, and noticing that is more interesting than a perfect triangle would be.
The cheese, crust and toppings are separate regions, so there are three colours minimum and a natural order to work through.
Slices and fractions
Pizza is where most people first meet fractions, and for good reason: a whole circle divided into equal slices is the clearest model there is. A four-year-old does not need the word — what they need is the experience of cutting something into equal parts and noticing when someone gets a bigger piece, which children are exceptionally good at noticing.
