Trace the Number 3

Begin at the top right instead and the whole thing mirrors into something resembling a curvy capital E, which children do produce. Then count 3 things around you — fingers, toys, or steps — to link the symbol with the amount it stands for. Print it on A4 or US Letter. Tracing the shape and counting that many real things are two different skills, and this sheet is only worth much when they happen together.
Stroke order for 3
Two bumps stacked on the right, both curving the same way: start at the top left, curve right and round to the middle, then curve right and round again to the bottom. The pencil does not lift, and both bumps open to the left.
Children sometimes make the top bump much smaller than the bottom one, which is cosmetic and not worth correcting yet.
What to watch for
Reversed, a 3 looks like a curvy capital E, and children do produce that version. It is a starting-point problem — begin at the top left, not the top right — so putting a dot at the start is more effective than describing the shape.
