Bubbling Cauldron Coloring Page

Decide what is in the potion
The cauldron is the one Halloween page that asks a question before any colouring starts: what is bubbling in there? Green for frogs, pink for a friendship spell, purple for something that turns you into a cat. The potion and the rising bubbles are separate areas, so the answer gets its own colour.
Below the pot are the flames and the logs, both drawn as simple shapes. Colouring fire is a good moment to talk about warm colours — red, orange, yellow — and why flames are never drawn in blue, except by the children who decide they should be.
Heat, steam and bubbles
Next time a pan of water boils in the kitchen, point to it from a safe distance: those are the same bubbles. Heat from underneath makes the water move and rise. It is real science that happens to look exactly like a witch's cauldron, which makes it very easy to remember.
