Satellite Coloring Page
Kids · 5–8A satellite with a dish antenna pointing off to one side and two solar panel wings, floating among small stars. The dish is a smooth curved shape and the panels are fine grids, so the page has one big easy area and two detailed ones — which suits a child who wants somewhere to start quickly and somewhere to slow down afterwards. Satellites are the space object children have the most contact with and the least awareness of: the weather forecast, the map in the car and the television all arrive through one. Pointing that out while they colour turns an abstract machine into something that does a job they have seen the results of. Print on A4 or US Letter. The dish points at the Earth rather than out at space, which is the opposite of what most children assume and a quick way into what the thing is actually for.
