Dot-to-Dot: Cherries
Preschool · 3–5Two cherries on a stem, in 28 dots. The outline runs around one cherry, up the stem, and around the other, so the pencil has to leave a round shape and come back to one — the only page in this set where the line doubles back on itself. The dots are further apart here than anywhere else. Free to print, A4 and US Letter, ages four to seven.
The line doubles back
The outline runs around one cherry, up the stem and around the other, so the pencil leaves a round shape and has to come back to one. It is the only page in the set where the path crosses its own territory, and the only one where following the numbers beats following the shape.
Widest spacing here
The dots sit further apart than on any other page, so the lines are long. Expect wobble, and ignore it — the two round shapes read as cherries regardless.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does every page go up to 28?
- So there is no easy page and no hard page to sort first. A child who can count to twenty-eight can do the cherries and every other picture in the set.
- Why are these all objects rather than animals?
- Because joining dots gives you an outline, and an animal's outline is a lump — what makes an owl an owl is its face, which sits inside the shape. A key, a crown or a stocking is recognisable from its edge alone.
