Comet Coloring Page
Preschool · 3–5A comet streaking across the page: a lumpy icy head at the front and a long tail of light sweeping out behind it, with small stars scattered around. The tail is drawn as many separate streaks rather than one shape, which is the whole appeal of this page — it is an invitation to use every colour in the box in long parallel strokes, and it looks right however it is done. The head is small and rocky with a pitted surface. There is no wrong answer about which way a comet's tail points, except that it always points away from the Sun, which surprises most adults too. An easy page with a dramatic result. Print on A4 or US Letter, or colour it online. Comets spend most of their time far from the Sun with no tail at all; the tail only appears as they come close and the ice starts to boil away.
