Space Robot Coloring Page
Kids · 5–8A boxy robot with antennae, a square head and tracked wheels, exploring a rocky planet surface with hills behind it. It sits halfway between the Mars rover, which is real and complicated, and the alien, which is invented and easy — a machine that could exist, drawn simply enough that a five-year-old can colour it without help. The body is built from rectangles and the tracks are a repeating run of plates, so there is pattern without fiddliness. Children who like the rover but find its solar panels exhausting should be given this instead. The face is the part most of them change: a robot with two round eyes invites a child to decide what mood it is in, and they usually do. Print on A4 or US Letter, or colour it online. The tracks rather than wheels are a deliberate detail: on loose rocky ground a track spreads the weight and does not sink, which is why real planetary machines tend to have them.
